Donna is a hero to many. She saw the need to organize the neighbors in her community, and was instrumental in starting a neighborhood association in her neighborhood.

Why did you start a new neighborhood association?

I wanted to create an opportunity for neighbors to have a place to come together, share ideas and get involved in what’s happening in their neighborhood. I saw the need for a place that is inclusive and not exclusive and where people can feel welcome.

What do you hope this neighborhood association will accomplish?

I hope that neighbors see the value in a strong network of people and how good it is for us to be united.

What do you love most about West Dallas?

I love the diversity that you can find here. You can learn a lot from people who are different than you.

Where do you draw your inspiration?

I carry a piece of paper around in my wallet that says “Don’t Quit.” It always serves as a reminder to me to keep focused and not to get discouraged.

I also love Joshua 1 because it reminds me to be strong and courageous!
