Community Advocates (fluent Spanish)
Act (Advocates for Community Transformation) is a rapidly growing non-profit justice organization offering a new model of ministry that uses the legal system to empower inner-city residents to fight crime on their streets while sharing with them the hope of the gospel. Act’s vision is to see safe neighborhoods, where crime is no longer tolerated and dignity and hope are restored. Act currently serves multiple neighborhoods in Dallas, Texas and is positioned for expansion; the organization operates as a 501c3 with 25+ full-time employees and a $3.1 million annual budget.
Act is growing its Community Advocate team by seeking individuals with fluency in Spanish who can bring a disciplined presence and passionate enthusiasm for Act’s mission and vision. The ideal candidate must be a servant-leader who exhibits a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, a passion for social justice, and the leadership ability to effectively shepherd others.
Act Community Advocates educate, empower, and mobilize inner-city residents to fight crime in their communities. The role requires a strong sense of justice as well as a tactical, investigative, bold, and tenacious character necessary to inspire and organize residents. Act Community Advocates are highly relational and possess a keen ability to engage individuals in high crime urban neighborhoods with a compassionate spirit and a strong level of discernment. The ideal candidate will have experience utilizing this broad skill set across a wide range of relationships, cultures and environments.
